Project 3 - Urban Wind Turbine "Ecoventus"

I have chosen to do project three on a urban-friendly wind turbine, which can be used for industrial applications and for specialized commercial and private use as well. The turbine is approx. 12 meters tall and is of vertical stature, enabling a more compact solution to wind power. The blade design is of an 'airfoil' shape to catch lift from the wind and the twist is an evolution of the 'Quietrevolution' Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (V.A.W.T) range.

The 'Ecoventus' V.A.W.T provides lighting to city streets and roads and can also be used for mains power supply. Energy is stored in large capacitors inside the body of the Ecoventus. Assembly is simple, as the bodies are modular and each rotor can be stacked in conjunction with the corresponding body parts. Blades are then attached accordingly.

Functional Bottle Concept - Baby Mobile

The first project for this semester was a choice of three different projects. I decided to design a concept for a child's water bottle that can be used as an interactive mobile.
The highlight of the concept is that the lettered shape on the bear's stomach area will cast a silhouette on the child's wall at night when hung (in mobile form). The light in the mobile will provide the source to cast the 'bear' shadows.

New Methods

Hi. I'm Tim.

Here I go with a new format of uploading myself to the world... my professional attributes exposed to employers, peers and network contacts.

By the end of this semester i will have a revamped portfolio ready to show prospective employers, companies and anyone interested enough to take a look at my projects from uni, as well as any other extra curricular ideas i would like to do.

I do have a Coroflot account, but i must admit it is horribly out of date. That will be fixed in relation to updating this blog, for i see myself running both side by side.

That's it for my first blog post!
